X does not let you pick a typeface. What these styles do is swap each letter for a look-alike character from the Unicode standard: mathematical bold, script, double-struck, monospace and so on. Because they are real characters and not formatting, they survive copy and paste into posts, replies, your bio and your display name.
Not every device ships every symbol. Older phones and some smart TVs can show an empty box for rare characters, so preview the result on the device your audience uses most before you commit to it.
Screen readers read many of these characters letter by letter or skip them. Keep the important words, like your name and what you do, in plain text and use a styled font only for decoration.
They can. X counts characters with its own weighting, and some styled letters count as more than one. Check the counter in the composer before posting.
