Paste a caption, bio, post or title and see at once how many characters it has and how much room is left on Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn and Threads, using the limits each network publishes.
0 characters, 0 words, 0 lines
Drop in the caption, bio, post or title you are writing.
Each field shows characters used and what is left. Red means over the limit.
Edit right in the box until everything fits, then copy.
Most networks count Unicode characters, including spaces and line breaks. X weights some characters, like emoji and many non-Latin scripts, as two, which is why a post can hit the limit earlier than the plain count suggests.
Limits change. The table on this page shows the values each network documents in its help center, with the source linked, and the date we last checked them.
Longer is not always better. On most feeds only the first line or two show before "more", so the opening has to work on its own.
