All we need is the channel name after twitch.tv/. Followers count toward your follower goal; average viewers and broadcast hours still come from streaming.
The follower count is shown on your channel page and in the browse directory, and it is one of the first things a viewer sees before deciding to stay. It also counts toward the 50 followers in the Affiliate requirements, but Affiliate also needs real broadcast hours, streaming days and average viewers, which followers alone do not provide.
Pair the follower growth with a regular schedule. A channel with thousands of followers and no recent broadcasts looks abandoned, while one that streams a few times a week looks like it is growing. We only need the channel name; your stream key and login stay with you.
Delivery starts a few minutes after payment and runs gradually, usually over a few hours for small packs and a day or two for larger ones. A slow, steady rise reads as a channel being discovered, which is the impression you want when a viewer checks the follower count during a stream.
