What does each Affiliate requirement mean?

  • 50 followers: total followers on the channel, not new ones in 30 days.
  • 500 minutes broadcast: a little over 8 hours of streaming in 30 days.
  • 7 unique broadcast days: streaming on seven different days, so short frequent streams beat one long marathon.
  • Average of 3 viewers: the hardest one for most new streamers, measured across your streams.

How do you raise average viewers?

Stream on a fixed schedule so people know when to come back. Choose categories that are active but not dominated by huge channels. Talk constantly, even to an empty chat; viewers who drop in from browse stay longer when the stream feels alive. Raid other small streamers at the end of your stream; many raid back.

How do you get your first 50 Twitch followers?

Share clips on TikTok, YouTube Shorts and X, invite friends to the first streams, and join communities around your game. A channel with very few followers can look empty to people browsing, so some streamers start with a small base such as 100 Twitch followers. Followers alone do not satisfy the viewer requirement, so treat it as presentation, not as the goal. More sizes are on the Twitch followers page.

What comes after Affiliate?

The Path to Partner achievement has asked for 25 hours streamed on 12 different days with an average of 75 viewers in 30 days, after which you can apply. Partners get more options for monetization and support, but the application is reviewed by people at Twitch.

A simple weekly routine for new streamers

  1. Four streams a week of two hours each, same days and times.
  2. Clip two moments per stream and post them as short videos.
  3. Raid a small streamer at the end of every stream.
  4. Update your panels and schedule in the channel's About section.

Frequently asked questions

Do raids and hosts count toward average viewers?

Viewers who arrive through a raid are counted while they watch, so raids can help, especially when they stay.

How long does it take to get Affiliate?

Streamers who stream several days a week on a schedule often get there within a few months, but it depends on category and consistency.

Is Affiliate available in every country?

Payouts depend on the countries Twitch supports. Check the Twitch help center for your location.
